2023 (2024) Advanced Level Examination to Begin Tomorrow
Colombo, November 24, 2024 – The Department of Examinations has officially announced that the 2023 (2024) Advanced Level (A/L) Examination will commence tomorrow, November 25. The examination will run until January 31, 2025, and will be held across 2,302 examination centers nationwide.
A total of 346,976 candidates are set to sit for the examination, which will be coordinated with the support of 319 coordinating centers.
The breakdown of candidates according to their chosen streams is as follows:
- 58,981 candidates will sit for the Biology subject
- 43,712 candidates will take the Physics subject
- 69,077 candidates are enrolled in the Commerce stream
- 128,924 candidates are taking Arts subjects
- 23,201 candidates are in the Engineering Technology stream
- 11,377 candidates will appear for Bio-systems Technology
- 11,704 candidates are scheduled for other subjects
The Examinations Department has urged all candidates and relevant staff to follow the prescribed guidelines and cooperate fully to ensure a smooth and successful conduct of the examination.
